BTM Company is seeking a Boring Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for machining large components and weldments, producing precision parts to specification, and supporting overall production quality.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced machinist to work on complex parts in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Position Overview

The Boring Mill Machinist operates boring mills to machine and finish large parts and weldments. This role includes setup, fixturing, machining, and inspection to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate boring mills to produce precision parts to specification
  • Square and machine weldments, including placing precision holes
  • Load, position, and fixture parts safely on machine tables
  • Perform receiving inspection on weldments
  • Conduct in-process and final quality checks
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Follow all shop safety rules and procedures
  • Support additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Follow all company quality (QMS) requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience operating boring mills or similar machining equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret part drawings and blueprints
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and processes
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Hi-lo and crane experience preferred (training available)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
